Many thanks to everyone who expressed concern about my cat; I haven’t had a chance to respond to emails yet because it’s been a very busy day. Lenore (my cat) has an infection and an abscess in her mouth/jaw. It’s causing her discomfort and pain, which has prevented her from eating. The vet said that it was VERY good that we brought her in today because she needed to be on antibiotics and painkillers right away. Lenore has to go back tomorrow, when her usual veterinarian is working, for a nutrient IV and bloodwork.
Lenore has advanced kidney disease, for which we’ve been treating her, but it means her system is very weak right now. Any infection or problem is much more severe than it would be in a healthy cat.
The vet told us that it’s really important to keep her warm and wrapped up because her body temperature is off due to the infection. Here is a picture of Lenore NOT enjoying being wrapped up in a blanket:
Thank you all so much for being understanding about today! 🙂
