Below is a list of homework and assignments for our class.  THESE ARE LISTED FROM NEWEST (MOST RECENT) TO OLDEST.  PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE DATES.

Monday 12/15:

  • LAST DAY OF CLASS!
  • PIZZA PARTY!
  • Coming to class, eating some pizza, and signing in counts as EXTRA CREDIT towards any missed classes

Thursday 12/11:

  • Journals accepted – last day of journal assignment
  • In-class film (for ALL students!)

Tuesday 12/9:

  • FINAL EXAM CATW IN N451 AT 2:00 – ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO DID NOT PASS THE MIDTERM CATW
  • Journals accepted

Monday 12/8:

  • Journals accepted
  • First half of class – grammar review (ALL students need to be there)
  • Second half of class – practice CATW exams returned and Q&A (ONLY students who need to take the final exam CATW have to stay for this part)

Thursday 12/4:

  • Journals accepted
  • PRACTICE CATW – ONLY students who need to take the final exam CATW should come to class

Tuesday 12/2:

  • Journals accepted
  • In-class reading and outlining work (continuing with ENG101-level work)

Thursday 11/27:

  • NO CLASS – BMCC CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING BREAK!  🙂

Tuesday 11/25:

  • JOURNALS WILL BE COLLECTED
  • One-on-one student consultations – ALL STUDENTS MUST ATTEND

Monday 11/24:

  • JOURNALS WILL BE COLLECTED
  • Practice CATW for the students who did not pass the midterm CATW.  (If you passed the midterm CATW, you do NOT need to come to class!)

Thursday 11/20:

  • In-class essay on obesity and Supersize Me (NOT a CATW essay)

Tuesday 11/18:

Monday 11/10:

  • REAL MIDTERM CATW EXAM AT 2:00 SHARP IN N453.

Thursday 11/6:

  • CONSULTATION PERIOD where you will get back all the recent CATW exams you have taken and will go over them with me personally, one-on-one
  • JOURNALS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Tuesday 11/4:

  • In-class CATW preparation for next week, including going over the rules for the real CATW
  • JOURNALS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Monday 10/27:

  • Practice/”dry run” CATW at 1:50 in N453 in the main building

Monday 10/20:

  • JOURNALS DUE!  (Free-writing: no assigned topic)
  • Revision work on the practice essay on “Drug Policy as Social Control.”  (Note: if you did not write this essay, you will write it for the first time instead of working on revising.)

Thursday 10/16:

  • Grammar day!  (I’ll try to borrow that game from my officemate).

Tuesday 10/14:

Monday 10/13:

  • BMCC CLOSED FOR COLUMBUS DAY – NO CLASS!

Thursday 10/9:

  • PRACTICE CATW

Tuesday 10/7:

  • Continue working with in-class reading
